不像同时期的同类电影，也不属于我们所熟悉的现代僵尸片，大多数僵尸片都在渲染恐怖，拒绝了剧情，而它专注的是伏都教巫术和复活死者的戏剧性，在某种程度上还是“黑色电影”。
