故事和笑料都普普通通，更谈不上深刻的东西了。相比之下可以看出卓别林、基顿这些大师多么厉害，吃帽子比吃鞋子可差太远了。很多笑话都有刻意的感觉（比如多到钢琴里被琴键砸），最好笑的是骡子被钓到阳台上。

3.5星，虽然说的是发生在西部小酒吧的故事但是基本上没有什么西部片的元素反而有好几处唱歌跳舞的桥段。不少笑料恶搞了之前的经典喜剧片，卓别林啃鞋子他们啃帽子，劳埃德墙上挂人他们吊灯上挂人，一夜风流中考尔白露大腿拦车他们是劳莱露腿拦车。。。酒吧的老板也像是马克斯家又多出了一个兄弟。。。
