北美独立和欧洲arthouse一样，已经自成一种美学风格了。中规中矩的北美独立片，有一点点闷，但也有粗线条的细腻感（感觉有点paradoxic，反正就是这个风格的电影那种细腻感啦）。致命缺点就是描写的是底层人物，而对白的tone没掌控好，经常跳出那种很文绉绉的大长句子，一听就是导演要来搞哲学的架势。
